The Fokas department store, one of the landmarks in Greece's second largest city, Thessaloniki is now facing eviction over unpaid rent payable to the premise's owner, the Greek Orthodox Church.

The closure of the business will see hundreds of employees lose their jobs in a city where unemployment rate is nearly 30%.
