L’État c’est Moi

Just found out my case against the cops that beat me for taking pictures of them during a peaceful demo was thrown out of court due to insufficient evidence. Obviously, five eye witnesses, video, photographs and a 10 page medical report are not enough. Next time I'll make sure I ask the b@stards their names.

Well, this is no more than to be expected, these guys have carte blanche (get out of jail free card for those not familiar with French) as far as the courts are concerned. Actually, I owe these guys a debt of thanks since the are the ones who really helped crystallise my political world view and turned a hobby into something more meaningful.

The news for your court case leave me dissapointed and actually sad.

I didn't actually expect any other outcome. Greece languishes in anomie while being turned into a police state. Demonstrably, only the rich and the well connected (and cops) have access to Greek justice.

Despite expecting such an outcome, I'm very sorry to hear that. I am, however, happy that you can still find something positive in all this.

Others pay for the free massage and still, you, complain...

No worries, they'll get convicted as soon as Plevris does.

Thank you all, for your support. It really means a lot to me. As for the free massage. I'm still waiting for next installment, still there's the Trade Fair (DETH) coming up soon so I'm sure the MAT will help me out LOL.

Really sorry to hear that TD even though there was not much hope of a different outcome. Very sad indeed that they will get away with beating you as they always have in the past. No-one is safe from these thugs. Thank you for standing up for yourself in such a strong way. That's an inspiration and the fact that you look at the positive (focusing your blogging) is fantastic.

Do take care of yourself out there on the streets. All my best wishes.

It could have been worse. They could have charged you with resisting arrest. They usually do after having beat the shit out of somebody, just to be on the safe side. It was probably your foreign passport that saved you.

@J95
Isn't it awful to think that a British passport might have saved TD from a worse fate? I feel awful for all those who find themselves in the hands of the Greek police without that "safeguard" !

So do I.

Pretty much sounds like you deserved to have your ass handed to you. It does seem that they didn't beat enough sense into you though.
