We will see this year. There is just a slight optimism as most people are getting some jobs or a pay increase that amounts to less then 5%. As I learned when had to write my paper on Greek economy, everything has gone up from taxes, utilities, gas, food prices etc. The government is still inept and not doing things fast enough. The elite Greeks sit on the sideline for years and abroad. The travel industry is still isolated from the crisis but that is where the tax invasion is heaviest. The government cannot or does not want to enforce tax collection on those who are privileged and not be affected by crisis. They are so greedy they still want to pay literally zero income tax and steal over 50% VAT. They did not get rich being honest. And that applies to most of the world too. But you need the government to be efficient. They are not. They are still bloated, get paid well and have better pensions on avg than us here in Canada. the trend in Greece like even well off countries is part-time work. Just dump everyone in part-time. Debt is still too high to GDP. All I know is there are some Greeks within Greece who are living the life better than most of us in North America or UK. They got a lot of cash stored somewhere. But how does that help the general population? There are also over 30 billion in investments waiting to be pumped into Greece and the government pushes them out. It blows my mind. It's too bad people with power and wealth remain in that position but instead of helping the economy and being patriots they are fakes and take advantage. We use to go to Greece every summer since age 1 and spend avg $5000 per person for 28 years. What did we get from rich Greeks and politicians? We don't need you or your money. Well that is why my parents left in first place. But to Greek public they say how they luv the diaspora.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05395428441919053425noreply@blogger.com
