I wish I had more time to address your points in detail (they deserve that much at least) but things have been moving at such a pace that I often have very little time and I devote that to get news out.teacher dudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17202858180246680798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17298986.post-78721537429219202992010-05-06T20:53:26.375+03:002010-05-06T20:53:26.375+03:00You say:

If so, I'd be interested to hear what alternatives you believe are available to Greece.

I enjoy reading your blog but it's a shame that, unlike some bloggers, you don't often reply to the comments your readers make.

I've said in past comments that, however much Greeks may not want the austerity measures, however harsh and unfair they seem, that Greece does not have a choice at the present time. If you or anyone else believes otherwise, you surely owe it to your beliefs to articulate why?JBnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17298986.post-36720674970979298692010-05-06T19:03:31.111+03:002010-05-06T19:03:31.111+03:00i woke up with the same sadness. to see this count...i woke up with the same sadness. to see this country, my country, go down the drain is very painful. i have no other words to describe this. thank you for your writing and for this article in particular. yesterday i quoted you on my blog.artemishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07423361131138256113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17298986.post-65844267841587955042010-05-06T18:34:39.180+03:002010-05-06T18:34:39.180+03:00all the anarchist-pseudorevolutioners like you are...all the anarchist-pseudorevolutioners like you are responsible for that unthinkable crime!you must critise ever for one time yourselfs!Owain Glyndwrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11380707526413395789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17298986.post-17009751417354518012010-05-06T17:21:35.910+03:002010-05-06T17:21:35.910+03:00Don't forget to mention another parameter to w...Don't forget to mention another parameter to what happened: will the district attorney look into the bank's safety measures?
Did the bank sacrifice 3 employees, in order to save cost of sprinklers, and other firefighting gear?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17298986.post-32305322913500129682010-05-06T14:00:39.641+03:002010-05-06T14:00:39.641+03:00The measures appear extreme. It would be great if only the rich could pay. It would be great if those responsible for the financial situation Greece is in at the moment would be brought to justice. However what percentage of the Greeks complaining, demonstrating etc have not themselves stole / deprived the government from money one way or another? By not issuing receipts, by not asking for receipts by fakelakia and so on. In my view if anything is ever going to change a line must be drawn on the sand responsibilities taken seriously and everyone must agree to move forward.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
