Alexis Tsipras is the new president of SYN - Coalition of the Left of Movements and Ecology (Sinaspismos tis Aristeras ton Kinimaton & tis Oikologias).
Alekos Alavanos, MP and former party president of SYN is the president of the Parliamentary Group of SYRIZA - Coalition of Radical Left (Sinaspismos Rizospastikis Aristeras).
SYRIZA is not a Party, but a coalition of Left parties, groups and individuals. SYRIZA does not have a "leader", but rather representatives (MPS) in the Greek Parliament. SYN, on the other hand, is one of the (major) political parties that participate in SYRIZA.
